We provide classes and trainings to SNAP-eligible audiences in qualifying community sites to encourage people to eat healthy and stay active.

MyPlate for MyFamily: SNAP Nutrition Education
Four (45 min.) lessons



These resources support SNAP-Ed nutrition education and obesity prevention efforts, and are based on recommendations from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Parents and caregivers who are SNAP participants or eligible for SNAP, and play a key role in planning, purchasing, and preparing food for their families are the target audience.

We Can! Energize Families 
Four (90 min.) lessons


This program is geared towards parents and focuses on the core concept of energy balance, or the long-term balance between Energy-In (calories you intake from food) and Energy-Out (calories you burn through physical activity). The four sessions of this program use fun, hands-on activities to help participants learn essential skills they can use to help their families make healthy food choices, become more physically active, and reduce recreational screen time.

Eat Smart, Live Strong (4 lessons)
This intervention encourages more fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity among 60-74 year olds who are currently participate, or are eligible to participate in SNAP. The intervention can support the efforts of program providers and communities in delivering nutrition education to low-income older adults. Each session in Eat Smart, Live Strong focuses on changing behavior by guiding participants in learning and practicing new skills.

Eat, Play, Grow (Pre-School)
The EatPlayGrow™ curriculum offers a series of eleven healthy lifestyle lessons for children age 6 and younger.  The series incorporates art-making, storytelling, music and movement activities into fun, hands-on educational lessons to teach young children and their adult caregivers about the importance of making positive choices in areas that most affect health.

Serving Up MyPlate (K-5)
Serving Up MyPlate is a collection of classroom materials that helps elementary school teachers integrate nutrition education into Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Health. This yummy curriculum introduces the importance of eating from all five food groups using the MyPlate icon and a variety of hands–on activities. Students also learn the importance of physical activity in staying healthy.

Fit Bits (K-5)
FitBits™ is an innovative, best practice resource that gets students up out of their seats and moving while at the same time reinforcing nutrition and health concepts that are aligned with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, grade level National Health Standards and USDA MyPlate. The activities are arranged into four content areas: Healthy Bodies, Food Groups, Fruits and Veggies and Healthy Snacks.

Nutrition Voyage (6-8)
Nutrition Voyage: The Quest To Be Our Best takes 7th and 8th grade classes on an exploratory journey into school wellness and making healthy food and physical activity choices. Standards-aligned opportunities are provided for students to investigate, participate in a challenge, evaluate, and reflect.

Activity + Eating (High School)
On the brink of adulthood, high school students are making important decisions that impact their future and creating habits that may very well stick with them for life. Help them make healthier food and physical activity choices by giving them the knowledge they need. Designed using a behavior-change model, Activity + Eating gives students the knowledge to develop an action plan to make healthier decisions.

Cooking Matters for Chefs and Kids (site must have a commercial kitchen)
An easy-to-use guide that helps chefs and others provide hands-on instruction that will help kids develop a love of cooking and the skills to make healthy food choices wherever they go. The guide includes a variety of resources to help you engage kids, including tips and advice for planning fun activities, materials lists and activity instructions, appealing and interactive recipes for kids, and fun handouts that supplement the lessons of each activity.
